We were called to an old leaking concrete pond but once emptied and cleaned it was clear that the concrete was beyond repair and the customer chose a fibreglass option as the solution but it is Autumn 2020 and the weather is turning so we constructed a temporary shelter to work under.
The concrete was decades old and cracked and crumbling all over.
After cleaning the pond we needed to make the pond surface smooth and dry to allow fibreglassing. Once this preparation was completed we left the pond covered for over a week to dry, protected from the autumn rain and gales coming with too much frequency to make life easy.
Thee pond has been coated with fibeglass and curing nicely Windy conditions and constant leaf fall Black flow coat completed the fibreglass finish The pond edge was created in natural stone but formal sizes and shapes do not look well. We cut curved sections from rectangular pieces to edge the pond before laying them Natural stone edging cut and laid bridge re-installed. Completed with heavy rain expected the water level was left to rise naturally
Various views after completion
Needless to say our customer was very happy with the end result
